He is risen! He is risen indeed! Happy Easter everyone! I love Easter, and celebrating that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and then rose from the grave. And Easter was extra special this year because it was Kayley’s first! We had a wonderful weekend as a family, and God blessed us with a break from all the rain and gave us a glorious sunny warm weekend. We also amazingly didn’t have anything on our calendar Saturday – something that rarely happens. We had a few fun errands to run, and stopped by Value Village and a few other stores for fun too (Kayley made out like a little bandit).

Today we had a wonderful breakfast at church before serving in the nursery with all the cute little kiddos. I think all the babies and toddlers knew it was Easter because they were all in high spirits and having a grand time playing together. After church, for the first time ever, I prepared all of our Easter dinner. Our friends Jeff and Sherry came over to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection with us. We had a wonderful time hanging out and I am happy to report that the food was very scrumptious. We even had lime Jell-O, with fruit cocktail mixed in and marshmallows on top – an Easter traditional food for me. We’re so glad our friends were able to join us for Kayley’s first Easter.

Oh, and yes, Kayley did have an Easter basket. Well, we used her purple pail to put her purple chick that peeps/cheeps, her purple new sleeper, and her Jesus Easter book (which happens to have quite a bit of purple on the front) inside.
