Splish Splash

Well, our last night in Cali was spent at Embassy Suits with the family. Some of my mom’s friends were able to stop by and say their last goodbyes before she took off to her new home. Kayley had fun running around with her cousin Soleil and checking out the koi in the pond (all Embassy Suits have them).

The next morning before checking out of the hotel, Kayley had her first experience in a swimming pool. We decked her out in her diaper, her reusable swimming diaper cover and her Little Mermaid bathing suit and told her she was going swimming in a big bath. She was a little tentative at first, not sure what to make of it, but after a minute she loved it! She was even putting her legs out behind her and kicked a little while we puller her around the swimming pool. She loved playing peek-a-boo with her daddy in the pool. Andrew would go under the water and swim a bit and the pop-up somewhere else. It made Kayley laugh each time he did it. I think if it wasn’t near nap time she would have stayed in the pool for hours. We’ll have to go swimming again!

After that and a little nap (my mom, sister and bro-in-law had already hit the road north to WA), my best friend Alison came to pick us up to take us to the airport. Our first stop, however, was to rendezvous with her hubby Tony and daughter Soleil at In N’ Out for lunch. We had one last fun hang out before having to say goodbye.

One last goodbye before we go into the airport
Kayley yet again did great on the airplane. Someone remarked after the flight that she was the most well behaved baby she had ever been on an airplane with. Yay! Way to go Kayley! While people were boarding she said “hi” to practically everyone who passed us by and she was pretty social during the flight; saying hi and waving and smiling to those seated around us. She was awake for takeoff this time and was only slightly concerned by the loud noise while she ate her crackers and sipped her water. During the flight she mostly read her That’s Not My Kitten book and played with her Daisy doll. Half way through she fell asleep and stayed asleep until we woke her up while we were exiting the plane.

Kayley: Hi everyone!

Kayley was super excited to see her cousins, Sara and Katie, who picked us up from the airport. And when she got home she was even more excited to see Hoshi and her own toys. Thankfully Hoshi was happy to see her too and thus did fine with the extra hard love Kayley gave her.

Kayley: Yay! I get to be with my cousins!

Kayley: Hoshi! I missed you so much!

Kayley: My TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
